Slack - Integration

Integrating Qualified with Slack allows you to send alerts about website visitors via Slack to individual team members or directly to a Slack channel. You can easily configure your Slack alert within your Experience builder and add branching to send alerts about only the most qualified leads.

How the Slack Integration Works

With Slack connected to Qualified, you can:

  • Send a channel message the moment a qualified prospect or target account lands on your site.
  • Direct message specific sales reps when their accounts have arrived on your site.
  • Direct message anyone in your organization regardless of having a Qualified login or not
  • Direct message owners of a Salesforce account, contact, or Lead as soon as that visitor arrives on the website.
  • Give your sales team a complete picture of qualified website visitors, from title to company, right inside of Slack.

Connecting to Slack

Connecting to Slack allows Qualified to send notifications to public Slack channels and individual Slack users. Once connected, users are automatically connected to receive Slack alerts if their email address in Qualified matches their email address in Slack.

As Qualified Admin, follow the step below to connect the org-level account: 

1. In Qualified, go to Settings → Integrations → Slack → Connection

2. Under the “Org-level account” section, click Connect to Slack.

3. Click Allow for Qualified to access your Slack account as shown below. More information about Qualified's Slack permissions can be found on the Qualified app directory page here.

Note: If you don’t see the “Allow” button, your Slack workspace owner may need to approve the Qualified app (documentation here). Request access by submitting your request on the screen. Your Slack workspace admin will automatically receive the request within Slack and you'll be notified when the integration is approved.

By default, you are able to specify the Slack channel that you want alerts posted to when you are creating the Slack Alert within the chat Experience builder. This however is a preference, not a restriction on Qualified's access. Qualified's Slack app would have write access to any of the public channels within your Slack workspace.

Configuring Slack Notifications

Once you’re connected to Slack, you can begin configuring your integration by going into your Experience builder and selecting the Experience you’d like to add Slack alerts to first.

Add a step in your Experience and scroll down to find the option for adding an alert, as shown below.

You’ll most likely want to add some qualification rules before your alert unless you’d like to be notified of all web traffic.

For example, you might want to notify your sales team in Slack if visitors on the site belong to companies of 500+ employees OR if any visitors are on your pricing page.

You can also use the Slack integration to your advantage to alert your team to visitors on your site that might be part of an open opportunity, as seen below.

Once you’ve selected to send an alert, you’ll notice within the step a few settings for Slack that you can configure:

  • Recipients: Choose where, or to whom, the alert should be sent. You have a few options:some text
    • Slack - choose a public Channel or a specific User.
    • Salesforce users - choose a lookup field tied to the Lead, Contact, or Account to alert that owner.
    • Qualified reps - choose a Qualified user.
    • Outreach/Salesloft email sender - alert the email sender if the visitor came to the website by clicking on a link in an Outreach/Salesloft email.
  • Subject: Enter a descriptive subject, such as what the alert is for, a call-to-action for the alert recipient, or why the visitor is important.
  • Body: This option allows you to change the default message provided in Slack, including adding any other variable tags you'd like. If left blank, the alert body will display all visitor field values.
Note: Qualified does not support sending messages to private Slack rooms.

Slack View

When you’re done configuring your Slack settings, we recommend testing it to ensure all of your alerts are working as expected.

Within Slack, your alerts will start to appear in the channels and directly to the reps that you selected. It will display:

  • Subject and Body that you designed in the Experience step and a 
  • View in Qualified button that will open the Visitor 360 and Qualified messenger.
  • View in Salesforce button that will be present if the visitor matches an existing Lead or Contact record in Salesforce, and will open the matching record in Salesforce.
